New employee: Ahmed Farag
Sputtering Components welcomes Ahmed Farag as a sales manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He will work closely with SCI’s representative in Europe, robeko, which is based in Mehlingen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
Focusing on nanofabrication and nanotechnology, Farag earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Cairo University in 2007.
He started his working career in 2008 as a lab engineer in the surface treatment department of an aluminum company. In 2010, he became the surface treatment department manager there. In 2012, still in Egypt, he started working as a technical sales engineer for Chemetall GmbH.
In 2015, he decided to see another part of the world and, with a desire to push his scientific knowledge further, entered the physics master’s program at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. There, he specialized in solid state physics, semiconductors, superconductivity, optics and photonics.
In April of this year, he earned a PhD in engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany. In that program, he specialized in perovskite solar cells and tandem photovoltaics
